Tarun Gandhi, OD
Dr. Tarun Gandhi grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. As a student, he shadowed an optometrist in his community. At that time, he discovered how much of a positive impact he had in the lives of the people living in his community.
Dr. Gandhi graduated Magna Cum Laude from UHCO in 2009. He completed externship training at the Naval Health Clinic in Quantico, VA and Bridge Builders Eye Clinic in Dallas, TX. He has been in practice for 5 years and his specialties include Contact Lenses, Pediatrics, and Management of Eye Disease.
Dr. Gandhi receives professional satisfaction from making a difference in the lives of others. He once had a patient with a corneal condition called Keratoconus. She was experiencing severe reduced and doubled vision for years without any relief. Dr. Gandhi was able to fit her into specialty contact lenses and correct her vision. She was so overcome with joy that she could not hold back the tears; this was the best she had ever seen in her life.
A proud member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society, AOA, and the Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Gandhi enjoys spending time with his family and going to the park. He is married to Rashmi Bisen OD, the other optometrist in the practice. They have a son, Ishaan Gandhi, who is 2 years old.
Rashmi Bisen, OD
Dr. Rashmi Bisen grew up in Fayetteville, NC, a military community right next to Fort Bragg and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Bisen learned how diseases of the body can affect the eyes and it made her realize that one’s eyes are truly windows to what’s going on in their body. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Bisen’s favorite stories involve children who get their first pair of eyeglasses and see the world clearly. She takes pride in the fact that she can help people who have been told that their vision “is what it is”. Helping these patients figure out a way to improve their vision either through contacts, glasses or prisms gives Dr. Bisen professional satisfaction. She has received multiple Clinical Letters of Excellence in Patient Care awards.
Dr. Bisen specializes in Diabetic Eye Exams, Pediatrics, Diagnosis and Management of Ocular Diseases, Contact Lenses, Lasik Evaluations, and Dry Eye Treatment. She is a proud member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
When she is not busy educating patients about the importance of Diabetic Eye Exams at Community Health Fairs, Dr. Bisen enjoys reading, spending time with her family – especially her 2 year old son – hiking, and yoga.
“Patient Care is very important to me. I treat every patient as I will treat a family member”
